Smart City Consultancy Limited was formed over a decade ago, specifically to address the opportunities we could foresee in the Smart Cities domain and we have been working at the forefront of this and related fields ever since, undertaking first-of-their kind projects and establishing ourselves as an industry leader in this space.

Our projects have included:

  • Working with the Open University on as part of an EU funded project to create, establish, launch and operate CityLabs, a place for SMEs to work with academic and industry experts to develop concepts into prototypes for new products and services in the digital economy, particularly focused on data driven and Internet of Things developments

  • End-to-end management of international events, such as SciRoc, establishing the inaugural SciRoc Smart Cities challenge within Milton Keynes in 2019 as part of an EU-funded Horizon project and delivering a hybrid event in Bologna in 2021 that, due to COVID-19 restrictions delivered competitions both on-site and virtually

  • Delivering the MK5G:Create project, a DCMS-funded designed to demonstrate how 5G connectivity could be deployed to deliver an enriched visitor experience in and around Stadium MK, home of the MK Dons; this work included the development of an advanced 5G network and other infrastructure and showcased how self-driving vehicles, robots and drones could be used in ground-breaking ways to fundamentally change the visitor experience

Today, we are focused on building on these and other activities to deliver transformational change in a variety of sectors, including intelligent transport, travel, hospitality, retail, healthcare and other settings.
